A Brand-New Era Begins
As an Editor following our local league, watching an institutional rebuild is always thrilling. Unisport du Haut-Nkam has officially presented its final squad for the 2026/2027 MTN Élite One season. The grand unveiling took place this weekend ahead of the championship kickoff. It signals a complete reset for the legendary Flambeau de l’Ouest.
Youth and Experience Combined
The newly installed Provisional Management Committee moved rapidly to finalize a highly competitive, balanced roster:
- The New Core: The squad features a structural blend of hungry, young prospects and battle-tested domestic veterans.
- The Defensive Anchor: Highly rated 20-year-old defensive midfielder Junior Nyam headlines the fresh additions following his move from Sable de Batié.
- The Roster Size: Coach David Pagou will guide a lean, athletic 30-man squad built for high-intensity counter-pressing and fluid vertical transitions.
Editorial View
From my perspective, this presentation represents a massive administrative victory over pre-season chaos. Just weeks ago, boardroom mandates and gridlocked leadership threatened to completely ruin Unisport’s registration capabilities. By establishing a clear, unified squad layout under Serge Flaubert Leubou’s interim board, the players can finally ignore boardroom noise.
They possess the necessary depth to easily survive the grueling tactical speed of tier-one football. The Flambeau de l’Ouest is fully armed, the kits are assigned, and they look ready to shock the division.
