Fame Ndongo hails Colombe’s continental masterclass.

High Praise

As an Editor tracking our elite standard-bearers, watching our domestic clubs command respect across Africa is incredibly inspiring. Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo has officially issued a powerful message of congratulations to Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo. The highly influential member of the club’s Council of Elders expressed great pride following their sensational away triumph.

He proudly stated: “The Dja-et-Lobo Sports Colombe deserves all our congratulations. Their performance in Senegal was remarkable; we congratulate them, and we are proud of them. They were valiant, fearless, and combative. This 0-2 away victory honors all Cameroonian football.”

Guarding Against Complacency

The Southern Bird holds a massive two-goal cushion over Senegalese champions Teungueth FC. Yet, the senior statesman explicitly warned the players to guard their minds against premature celebration:

  • The Directive: “We wish the Colombe all the success for the return match on Sunday in Yaoundé; we tell them not to rest on their laurels, not to be self-sufficient, not to self-glorify, not to be triumphant; they must remain modest but fearless.”
  • The Magic Formula: He firmly added, “They have talent, everyone knows that, but talent alone is not enough; we must also add willpower. When you are talented and willing, you win, and we know they are and will win.”

A National Rallying Cry

From my perspective, Fame Ndongo’s words perfectly capture the immense structural significance of this continental campaign. When a local club steps onto the CAF Champions League stage, they transcend regional boundaries. They comfortably carry the collective hopes of an entire nation.

To ensure the job is finished with absolute authority, he concluded with a massive patriotic appeal: “I call on all supporters: this is our team, this is the Cameroon team that just beat the Senegalese champion. I therefore ask all Cameroonian women and all Cameroonian men, not only those from the South, to massively support the South Colombe, the Dja-et-Lobo Colombe; it is a talented team that proudly carries the colors of Cameroon.”
