Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been officially crowned the Men’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season. The 31-year-old Portuguese playmaker received the prestigious honor at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony held at the Manchester Opera House.

By winning the vote of the footballers’ union, Fernandes becomes the first Manchester United player to take home the prize since Wayne Rooney in 2010. He also etches his name alongside Cristiano Ronaldo as only the second Portuguese player in history to win the accolade. The midfield maestro beat out an elite six-man shortlist that included Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
