Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo has officially qualified for the upcoming CAF Champions League season after successfully defending their MTN Elite One championship throne

The Sangmélima-based club secured Cameroon’s sole ticket to Africa’s premier continental competition following a historic 7–0 demolition of Fauve Azur on the final matchday of the domestic season.

Back-to-Back Champions Seal the Ticket

Colombe Sportive’s qualification comes as a reward for absolute dominance in the 2025/2026 domestic campaign:

  • The Standings: Colombe concluded the 26-game season at the top of the table with 55 points, finishing ahead of runners-up Dynamo de Douala on goal difference (+34 vs. +29).
  • The Record: Over the entire season, the club registered 16 wins, 7 ties, and only 3 losses.
  • Defensive Mastery: The team boasted the league’s most resilient backline, enabling them to retain their title and secure back-to-back championship honors.

Navigating Off-Field Hurdle and Squad Changes

While their continental qualification is locked in based on sporting merit, the club’s administration has been navigating severe regulatory pressure. FECAFOOT’s disciplinary committee recently imposed a heavy 30 million FCFA fine on the team and handed out suspensions to its management following unsporting incidents during a prior cup match.

Concurrently, the squad is undergoing minor restructuring. The club’s management recently greenlit the exit of 29-year-old star striker Brice Sindjo, who flew out to complete a transfer to Zambian side Zesco United after registering a crucial 6-goal contribution this past season.

Preparing for the Continental Stage

With the league trophy secured, Colombe Sportive is turning its full attention toward the rigorous demands of the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds. The technical staff is already working behind the scenes to bolster the roster, aiming to ensure that the “Birds of the South” possess the tactical depth and physical stamina needed to make a deep impact on the African continent.
