The newly signed OGC Nice winger Nathan Ngoumou has officially taken part in his first formal training session with the French club. This milestone marks his immediate integration into the squad following his high-profile permanent transfer from Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Inside the Transfer Agreement
The 26-year-old Cameroonian international returned to his native France on a heavily structured deal:
- Contract Duration: Committed to a two-year contract running until June 2028.
- Transfer Type: Joined the Aiglons on a free transfer.
- Financial Incentives: While no upfront fee was paid, Gladbach secured up to €500,000 in performance bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause.
Rebuilding Fitness After Injury

Ngoumou’s initial training session with Nice marks a crucial step in his return to top-flight competitive football:
- The Setback: The explosive attacker missed the entirety of the 2025/2026 season due to a severe Achilles tendon rupture sustained in April 2025.
- The Preparation: To optimize his fitness before joining his teammates, he spent the summer undergoing intensive individual physical training in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat with Nice’s returning fitness coach, Nicolas Dyon.
- The Target: Now fully recovered and medically cleared, the former Toulouse FC youth graduate is focusing on regaining match rhythm to reinforce Nice’s flank options in Ligue 1
